Event Website FAQ for admins

This page contains the basic information to get started with your CollabDays event website. If you don’t have a website for your event yet, you can request one here. When in doubt, contact info@collabdays.org.

How to register for run.events

As CollabDays events by definition should be non-profit, you are eligible to use the run.events event management platform for free. This is how that works:

  • Go to my.runevents.net and register a new account or login to an existing one
  • Request a new public event. If this is your first event, you might need to create a new organizer team first. If you are already part of an existing organizing team you can use that.
  • Fill in the required information to request your event registration.

Be sure to check the “This is a charity, non-profit, or community event” checkbox.
Some required fields might not be relevant for your event, just fill them in to the best of your knowledge.
For the “Event website”, provide your CollabDays website URL, eg. “https://www.collabdays.org/2025-belgium”.
At the end of the event creation wizard, your event will be created in Draft mode.

  • Request to Publish your event. A real person will now look at your request and approve it for free use with run.events. Stay tuned!

How to get your event on the CollabDays.org homepage

Once your run.events event has been published, you can have your event appear automatically on the CollabDays.org homepage.

  • Go to your event in run.events
  • Go to Settings and the Event Setup
  • Make sure you include the “collabdays” tag, have your CollabDays website filled in and checked “Allow this event to be listed publicly at run.events web page and mobile site”. Once this is all done, your event should appear on the homepage. This is how that should look:

Event integration snippets

You can integrate the following information on your event website, directly from run.events:

  • Sponsors
  • Speakers
  • Sessions
  • Agenda
  • Event Registration

Run.events provides HTML snippets for each of these so you can put them in the code blocks on the corresponding event website pages.

BUG ALERT

Unfortunately, there is a bug in the template we are using which will prevent you from saving the snippets correctly to your pages. Whenever you see a code block like this one, you will need to contact us to make any change:

Whenever you change and save *anything* in one of these code blocks, your edits will be erased and the code block will be empty. Nothing we can do about this in the short term sadly… 🤷‍♂️

So for the time being, we will configure the integration snippets for you. Please provide us with the “slug” attribute for your event. You can find that by going to your event Settings and then choose “Widgets and links”:
