Efficient Desktop Flows: Build a Reusable Framework for Robust Power Automate Desktop Flows
WHAT:
Embark on a comprehensive full-day workshop delving deep into Microsoft Power Automate Desktop (PAD). Throughout the session, participants will explore advanced error-handling features and gain hands-on experience in constructing a resilient framework for desktop flows that actually work more than once. The primary focus will be on understanding and implementing robust error-handling practices and efficient logging mechanisms to ensure the stability and reliability of Power Automate Desktop solutions. The resulting framework will also include reusable standardized flow structure that will save hours of time when developing new projects.
WHY:
With the increasing adoption of the Power Platform, the demand for stable and reliable solutions is paramount. Unfortunately, Power Automate Desktop gets some bad reputation for being unreliable, fragile and generally not great when it comes to handling errors and logging. The reality is that PAD does in fact offer a spectrum of powerful features for error handling, but it does not have a generally available framework for doing it. As such, many developers remain unfamiliar with how to leverage these capabilities effectively. This workshop is tailored to address this gap, providing participants with the skills needed to error-proof their desktop flows. By the end of the day, attendees will be adept at crafting efficient, robust flows with the capability to be easily monitored.
HOW:
The workshop will unfold as an immersive, hands-on experience, guiding participants through the creation of a comprehensive framework for error handling and logging in Power Automate Desktop flows. Key components covered include: – Leveraging Advanced Error-Handling Features: Understand and implement advanced error-handling features to fortify your solutions against unexpected issues. – Efficient Logging During Runtime: Learn how to strategically log crucial information during the execution of PAD flows, facilitating effective troubleshooting and analysis. – Standardized Reusable Flow Structure: Create a framework that can be reused in any future project, saving precious development hours and making maintenance easier, as all your flows will follow the same structure.
TAKEAWAYS:
Upon completion of this full-day workshop, participants will gain:
- In-Depth Understanding of advanced error-handling features within Power Automate Desktop.
- Hands-on skills in constructing a robust framework for error handling and logging.
- A standardized flow structure they can use while building their flows in the future.
Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical application, participants will leave equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to elevate their Power Automate Desktop automation projects to new levels of reliability and efficiency.
