 Organisations frequently want to leverage SharePoint and Teams in combination with Dynamics or Model Driven Apps. It allows them to engage a wider audience but also use the file and collaboration features of these platforms. SharePoint and Teams have native integrations into Dynamics and the wider Power Platform. However, many organisations want to do more, going beyond the native folder based integrations and even automatically generating documents. In this new session Peter Baddeley will share his first hand experience of creating solutions using Power Automate. He will demonstrate how you can create your own structures in SharePoint and Teams. Further he will show how you can synchronise metadata from the Dataverse across to SharePoint. He will also walkthrough the automation of documents and using Teams as a notification platform. Finally he will explain a development approach that allows you to continue to work within solutions. It will be a fast paced session, with lots of demos.

Join this session to discover the smart M365 features you have in the palm of your hand but not consuming! Also includes how to operate Viva with the most appropriate job roles and competencies. And, tips for IC on a variety of end user Viva adoption campaigns.

Did you know you can extend apps and experiences to new surfaces in Microsoft 365? Garry Trinder, Cloud Developer Advocate at Microsoft, will show you how to use the Teams Toolkit to build Teams apps, plus use the Teams JS SDK to extend existing apps and surface them across multiple Microsoft 365 surfaces, Teams, Outlook and Office. Whether you’re already building apps on the Teams platform – or are curious to find out more – this session will give you the skills you need to build rich experiences with ready to use toolkits and SDKs.

 Forget about classical OCR and chasing pixels on your documents to extract valuable data, and say hello to the Azure Form Recognizer, a technology used (among others) by Viva and Syntex. Azure Form Recognizer applies advanced machine learning to accurately extract text, key-value pairs, tables, and structures from documents. It takes you only a few minutes to tailor Form Recognizer to understand your documents, and to turn them into usable data. This session, focused both on functional consultants (we will talk a lot about Form Recognizer model builder and how to use it), and on developers (you will need to use Form Recognizer APIs to make use to make use of extracted data), will bring you from zero to hero in this newest addition to Azure’s AI/ML services family.

 In this mighty morphin’ session, Daniel Folly and Peter Baddeley will explore the latest addition to the Power Platform. They will demonstrate how you can quickly build low-code, external-facing websites. The session will also explore how you can capture data that is stored in the Dataverse, which can be used in wider business processes. Finally, they will consider potential business use cases from their own experiences in both the business, government and education sectors.

Microsoft Viva is the Employee Experience Platform that helps your organisation have engaged employees that understand and feel aligned with your purpose and the latest tool to fit that is Viva Goals and its powerful OKR tooling. Join this session to understand OKRs and how you can align purpose and drive focus across an organisation with them. I will then show how Viva Goals embedded in Teams can help make it easier to do this with deep integration into the Microsoft stack and beyond.

 This talk discusses options for building applications / displaying data within Microsoft 365 (SharePoint/Teams) when your data is held within your network (on-premise). We will discuss the options, licensing, the pros, and cons, and give you some ideas on how this can be achieved if you must solve this problem. The talk is based off a real-world implementation delivered for an NHS (UK Healthcare) Trust in the North of the United Kingdom.

Microsoft Teams shared channels have arrived and help solve a set of external collaboration challenges that previously required clunky and inelegant architectures. More than that, shared channels open up new capabilities for collaboration within and across organisations once you understand the 3 sharing options. In this session we will revisit shared channel creation and architecture, the sharing modes, demonstrate deployment options, and introduce some cool uses that you may not have considered.

MS teams have the coolest tools and will likely be the place that Collaboration happens. In this 50-minute session, we will focus on 4 practical collaboration practices that end-users find real value in incorporating into their daily routines.  Most applications are developed by several people at the same time. In the case of Power Apps there are several ways to do this, but all of them collide with the lock in editing of the application itself by one of the users. Is it possible to solve this type of problem? The answer is GIT! In this short session we will go to see the countless advantages of using GIT as a Co-Authoring system, we will see how to set up the application and we will also see how to manage the app sources effortlessly.

This session is all about PowerPlatform Governance. What it means and how you do it. From Data Loss Prevention policies to Environment Policy. For companies from a few people to tens of thousands.

In this session you’ll learn how to build accessible apps that use colours and iconography to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. You’ll learn what can and can’t be achieved currently to meet these standards, how to simulate colour blindness to understand how different visual groups will perceive the data in your applications and we’ll investigate how to support accessibility tools and technologies such as Screen Readers and keyboard-based navigation. In short, you’ll learn where to start, what templates you can use, and which functions and resources will help you deliver more accessible and inclusive apps in the Power Platform environment.

This demo packed session will explore how to best design & implement your Microsoft Viva covering all modules such as Viva Connections, Viva Topics, Viva Insights and Viva Learning, Viva Goals and Viva Engage.

Azure Cognitive Services are great, but you need a reliable network connection to the cloud, right? Wrong! For one thing, there’s an increasing number of services that can be deployed to containers. If you don’t have a reliable network connection, or have limited bandwidth, or if you have data that’s needs to be kept on-premises, these are all use-cases for deploying Azure Cognitive Services to containers. We can also use Azure IoT Hub and IoT Edge to manage devices and services. A second option is to export a custom trained model. We’ll see how to use Custom Vision in Azure Cognitive Services to train a custom computer vision model and export it as a TensorFlow model, and then deploy it to a Raspberry Pi Zero single board computer. Either way, you get the advantages of Azure Cognitive Services, but running outside Azure!

There is a buzz around the Power Platform products. There are lots of new toys, whizzy features and the Power Platform parties are the loudest. Power BI is the oldest child of the family and isn’t always included in the excitement. It doesn’t claim to be no code and some would argue if it is even low code. This session will walk through the ways in which Power BI can get help from its younger siblings and how it can get an invite to the parties. Power Automate to automate the refreshes and trigger actions on a refresh or a button. How even the youngest child Power Pages or the troublesome middle child Power Apps can surface your reports. Lots of demos to show how get the older sibling talking to the rest of the Power Platform family.

 A lot of people are finding their way to PowerApps. Do you know how to create a PowerApp but have you never thought about the user experience? Than come follow this session. In this session I will take you to the world of UX and UI. What is the difference between UX and UI? What is the return on invest if I first think about the UX and the UI and then start creating? What is the importance of UX and UI? And what are some great tools for creating an awesome UX and UI.

SharePoint Hub Sites continue to evolve as a one of the foundational ways of organising intranets. In this session we take a look at what they are, how they can be used, and how to take advantage of the more advanced new features such as nested hub sites.

Regardless of where your stance is with regards to Teams Governance, we all dream of being able to create a consistent Team, but how easy is it to do this with Power Automate? Can we create the Team? Can we create the channels? Can we install and add apps and tabs? In this session we will look at some of the provisioning techniques and how the Power Platform can help overcome some of the governance challenges.

In this session we will look at how you can build cards that deliver real value to your Viva Connections Intranet. We will focus on building cards that do not require developer knowledge to build or maintain. By the end of this session, you should be able to build your own creative Viva Connections cards using the Card Designer and begin using these in your Intranet.
